Earlier this February, members of the MOM-LINC team visited the Foothills Medical Centre NICU in Calgary, Alberta as part of the CONNECT Study. It was a pleasure to meet Dr. Soraisham (Site Investigator) and Jaspreet (Alberta Coordinator) in person for the first time since the study began. The visit was highly productive and we ensured that the Alberta site was ready to launch the intervention, toured the NICU, and connected with additional members of the clinical team. The day concluded with a wonderful dinner, where we shared many laughs and had the opportunity to unwind together.
Following the site visit, Cameron and Marsha, alongside 18 other IWK NICU staff members, attended the EPIQ/CNN Conference in beautiful Banff. Marsha presented on the outstanding quality improvement work being led by the Family Engagement Team across Canada and facilitated a breakout session.
The conference was a great experience, offering valuable opportunities to learn about the impactful research and quality improvement initiatives taking place nationwide to support evidence-based practices in neonatal care and family engagement. We feel very fortunate to have represented the IWK NICU!
